New York Lookbook

New York Lookbook

I love where I live in the Midwest. I’m a small town kind of girl who lives for farmer’s markets & simple living. But, I also love visiting cities like New York or Chicago. For someone who loves fashion & beauty trends as much as me, I sometimes feel like I need to get out of the small town bubble to spread my style wings. I call myself an occasion dresser. I need to know the itinerary & the vibe before I pack for a trip. As you’ll see later in this lookbook, I can’t wear the same type of outfit in a trendy New York bar as I wear in Greenwich, Connecticut.

As per requested by my loyal Instagram followers, here is a roundup with shoppable links for all of my New York looks. Some pieces may not be identical, but I did my best to find similar items. Happy shopping!

The Lookbook

Greenwich Housewife

Greenwich, Connecticut is a very affluent and conservative town. I wanted to look effortlessly chic and nothing does that better than a classic eyelet dress. I paired it with white sneakers, angular shades, and a statement bag for a pop of color.

Beach Babe

Not a huge outfit moment here, but did want to link my swimsuit even though I don’t have any photos in it. I borrowed a warm flannel from my sister for the ferry ride, and wore my favorite comfy shorts as my cover up.

Upper East-Sider

Any time I go to New York I have to live my best Serena Van der Woodsen life on the UES. We spent a rainy morning in the Met and a sunny afternoon in Central Park. When traveling I love packing jumpsuits or dresses to conserve space.

Try packing jumpsuits and dresses to save on space!

Brooklyn Baby

There was something about wearing overalls while running errands in Brooklyn. I’ve wanted a pair of overalls ever since bingeing Restored by the Fords on Discovery+. LeAnn Ford has the coolest style and can often be seen designing gorgeous interiors while wearing this classic jumpsuit. Leave it to Danielle Bernstein from WeWoreWhat to create the perfect pair of linen overalls.

But First, Coffee

Ah, the bittersweet last full day of a vacation. After walking around Brooklyn the day before I had to return to a small coffee shop I spotted. It’s a very Olivia spot with pink and white umbrella’s and yep, you guessed it, lavender lattes! I went for another “cool girl/Brooklyn street style” look for this outing. I thrifted this vintage Ralph Lauren scarf a couple weeks before I went to NYC and fantasized about this outfit since then.

The Grand Finale

I had to end my visit with a banging outfit, and these pants are quite the showstopper. I don’t incorporate too much color into my wardrobe, but this rich rusty/copper color screamed my name. They were the perfect piece for my last night in the big city.
