Olivia’s Favorites: February 2023

Welcome to another installment of Olivia’s Favorites. A month might not seem like a long enough time to find a new favorite item, but when you try as many things as I do, you learn pretty quickly what will make “holy grail” status. I love trying new things from beauty products and trends, to new recipes and restaurants. Life is too short to only stick to what you know. As always, let me know if there’s a product, book, recipe or anything else you want me to test out! You never know, it might just end up on my favorites list.

February Favorites

Glass Half Gallon Water Bottle

I’ve been drinking a gallon of water a day for almost 3 years now. It’s a habit that is attainable and makes me feel great. Sure, I go to the bathroom a lot, but I’m always hydrated and feel like I’m glowing. I had the same half gallon water bottle for 2 years and when I bought it there weren’t many aesthetic options on the market. A couple months ago it broke and I was on the hunt for the perfect replacement. This glass bottle from Amazon is incredible. I love that it’s glass, it’s chic, and easy to carry. Yes, I bought it for the aesthetics, but it’s such a big hit that even Scott bought one! If you have a goal to drink more water, I highly recommend something like this. Studies (conducted by me) show that a cute vessel means more H2O consumed.

Colectivo Pistachio Matcha

One of my favorite local coffee shops is Colectivo. I live only a few minutes from the Shorewood location, which is a blessing and a curse. Last year, I discovered the most delicious drink: the pistachio matcha. For several months I was getting one of these a couple times a week, when suddenly it dropped off the menu. To say I was devastated was an understatement. Well, it’s back baby, and pistachio matcha is basically a personality trait for me now. Since this is a seasonal drink I will be treating myself more than usual, but for a drink this good, it’s worth it. To my fellow Wisconsinites, if you’re near a Colectivo, I highly recommend trying this beverage. Even Scott, who doesn’t like matcha, enjoys this drink!

Abercrombie Curve Love Jeans

In case y’all haven’t heard, Abercrombie is having a comeback. I can’t deny that the loud music, signature scent and hot guys were a vibe. But, their lack of inclusivity led to a downfall in the late 2010’s. Now, after a successful rebrand, they are back and more popular than ever. I personally hate buying denim. But, when I saw Abercrombie had some jeans on sale I decided it was time to see what the hype was all about. I’m not your stereotypical “curvy” girl, but I did start finding that regular sizes didn’t work. I had to size up to fit my hips, but then the waist was huge. Enter the “curve love” fit. Since my waist is a size 2 and my hips are a 4, this is perfect for me. Instead of your normal 10″ difference from waist to hip, curvy jeans are a 13″ difference. I love the way these fit and flatter my curves. I will definitely be purchasing more from this line in the future.

Merit Beauty

Full disclosure, I haven’t tried many things from this line…yet. But, this brand makes me excited to continue exploring clean beauty. I purchased their blush balm in the shade Beverly Hills during the Sephora sale and it’s been my go to blush recently. I love the way it glides across the skin, wears all day and has the perfect pigmentation for either a whisper of color, or building it up to be more punchy. There are several other products that I already have my eye on and I can’t wait to try them!
