Animal Kingdom: What’s Worth It?

Out of all the parks, I know the least about Animal Kingdom. My first time going to this park was just this year when I moved to Orlando. I really love this park because you don’t feel like you’re in Florida. You truly feel like you’re in a different country, and it’s truly magical. My personal favorite part of this park is right when you walk in. Compared to the other parks, you actually have to walk a little way, through a forest, no less, to get to any type of attraction. A lot happens in that walk though: you are transported. I might sound like I’m crazy, but do that walk for yourself and you’ll understand what I mean.

Without further ado, here’s my go to places at Animal Kingdom.

Pandora

I’m sure this is not a shock to anyone, but I’m not just jumping on a bandwagon here. Pandora is easily one of the best lands in any Disney park. Going at night is so magical because of all the iridescent lighting, you can hear crickets and banshees, and waterfalls. The structure alone is breathtaking but tie in all of the other elements and it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen. Both of the attractions in Pandora are well worth the wait. Flight of Passage is everything it’s been hyped up to be. It is a 3D simulation type of ride, so if that makes you sick or if you get motion sickness it might not be the ride for you. Waiting in line for 120+ minutes might sound insane, but from the moment your group enters the room, it’s an experience you’ll remember forever.

Pandora also has one of my favorite snack foods: pretzel and beer cheese. This pretzel is easily bigger than my head, and you’ll need more than one container of beer cheese. (Remember: Disney calories don’t count.) For $12, you’ll be stuffed, and very happy with your decision.

Kilimanjaro Safari’s

I know you can go to any zoo across the country and see lions, and tigers, and bears. But, this is Disney so it’s completely different. Kilimanjaro Safari is a relaxing ride where you get to observe animals in their (somewhat) natural habitat. It’s completely different than a zoo because they are not in cages. Disney actually build a savanna for their animals to feel like home. The rhinos are in the same space as the antelope and the giraffe’s. They also make this ride educational for your little ones, telling you facts about the animals and poaching along the way. You’ll get some great pictures, and probably laugh at the ostriches.
