Olivia’s Favorites: March 2023
Welcome back! March was a quiet month for me. I started the month off with a work trip to Palm Desert, CA and have been trying to rest and recharge ever since. Introverted life, am I right? I really am not a fan of March. Some people hate February, but March to me is such a tease. Spring feels so close, yet so far away. It’s this month in particular when I really start craving moderate temperatures and sunny days. Other than that, March was a great month for favorites, and I can’t wait to share. So, let’s get into it.
March Favorites
Saturday Skin Rub-a-Dub Refining Peel Gel
This product has been sitting in my “face mask” drawer for months. I want to say it’s been there well over a year. I finally tried it a few weeks ago and it’s now one of my favorite skin care products I own. I love that Saturday Skin is a clean line and I love how the Rub-A-Dub Refining Peel Gel makes my skin feel after use. After cleansing and patting your face halfway dry, use a nickel sized amount on your face. You will literally feel dead skin peeling off your face. I use this once a week and love how it makes my skin soft and radiant. I’m super excited to try some other products from their line as well.
Mac Book Air
I’ve always wanted to be a Mac girly. I grew up with PC’s and when my college laptop finally died I took the plunge of purchasing my first MacBook Air. I know Mac’s, all Apple products really, are an investment. Honestly? They are so worth the money. I love that my iPhone, iPad and laptop all communicate with each other. The design is so clean and lightweight. I’m not an expert on displays and all the fancy technology that goes into these machines, but my user experience (so far!) has been pure perfection. If you’ve been on the fence of making the switch from PC to Mac, I say you go for it!
Downhill Skiing
I grew up skiing in Colorado with my family. Once my sister and I got to high school it was harder to get away for a week of fresh powder in the Rockies. It has been 14 years since I last skied, but when Scott suggested we get back into it, I couldn’t help but say yes. I was so nervous when we got to Granite Peak here in Wisconsin to ski together for the first time. I actually felt like I was going to pass out I was so scared. But after a few runs down the bunny hill I was ready to get on the lift and try a real hill. We skied one more time before the end of the season and we are so hooked, we’re going skiing for our honeymoon!
I love that skiing is something active we can do together, and that it offers me a challenge without being unattainable. I’m excited to continue practicing before our 2024 trip and sharpen my skills even more.
Lululemon Define Jacket
Hot take: I’ve never gotten the hype of Lululemon. To me, there are so many activewear brands that are high quality at a fraction of the price. But, when I went to the spring Divine Consign sale here in Milwaukee, I found a Lululemon Define Jacket for $40. I know…$40 for a sweatshirt is still on the pricey side. But, considering that these retail for about $120, I was pumped! I’m constantly reaching for this jacket now. It’s my favorite thing to wear during my barre classes and on my walks with Leia. I love that it is fitted enough to truly DEFINE my waist, but roomy enough so that I don’t feel suffocated. I can’t say I would spend my money on a full priced jacket, but if you can find one secondhand I don’t think you’ll regret it!
Kopari Lip Glossy
I’m a lip balm girly through and through. If there’s one thing I hate it’s dry lips. Therefore, I’m always on the hunt for the next best thing in nourishing lip care. When I was most recently at TJ Maxx, I almost skipped over the beauty aisle because I thought there’s no way they have clean beauty options. Boy, was I wrong. I snagged a couple really great products but the shining star was these Kopari Lip Glossy tubes. I got a 3 pack for $12 and they are my new bff’s. I love the all natural coconut scent. They’re long lasting and super nourishing.
