New York Street Style

New York Street Style

I just got back from New York City, and while I love where I live it was really hard to leave. Lucky for me, my sister lives right in Manhattan and is always down for some city adventures. I love New York: there’s so much energy and personality no matter what neighborhood you’re in.

Every time I visit Christy we create a bucket list. This time around we had places like Central Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, and Black Tap on our list. Like any time I travel I curated my outfits based on the spots I was going to. We all see bloggers in New York with amazing outfits strolling the beautiful streets, and I wanted to feel like one of them. No shame.

Spotted: Olivia on the Upper East Side

I’m a Gossip Girl addict. Every time I finish the show I start it over. I love the venues, the characters, and most importantly the clothes. When exploring the Upper East Side I couldn’t help but draw a little inspiration from my favorite leading ladies: Serena Van Der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf.

It still feels like winter in NYC, but I wanted to bring some spring vibes and white jeans did just that. These looked crisp and fresh against the rainy backdrops of Central Park. To look weather appropriate I paired these with a grey sweater and black leather booties. Christy, always so generous, let me wear this gorgeous camel Coach peacoat that gave off insane Serena vibes. To tie the whole look together I carried around this small vintage bag that I snagged for $6 at an Orlando thrift shop.

Hello, Brooklyn

Excuse the All Time Low reference, but I needed to happen. I have visited New York a couple times, but this was my first time walking the Brooklyn Bridge. While it may be the touristy thing to do you can’t beat the views! Brooklyn has some of the coolest neighborhoods, and I wanted my outfit to play off the hipster vibes this burrow brings.

I kept my outfit very simple: black jeans, black turtleneck, black booties. The star of the show was another Coach jacket, courtesy of Christy. This jacket is a beautiful metallic turquoise moto style. It was love at first sight for me. Every time I’m in the city I borrow it. To keep me warm I just wrapped a grey blanket scarf around my shoulders and called it good.

Soho Street Style

Soho is my favorite neighborhood in New York City. I love the architecture, the hustle and bustle, the designer stores, cobble streets, coffee shops, and photo locations. Since I feel the most in my element in this area, I wore my usual uniform of all black with a pop of denim. Instead of wearing my booties that were killing my feet 2 days in I opted for comfortable, but still on trend, grey sneakers. In case of getting chilly, I threw the same blanket scarf as above over my shoulders.
